Oranges: Two Natural Ladies discuss the many ways to eat and drink this delicious fruit.

dried oranges

Vicki shares Two Natural ladies groupies’ suggestions while Jo gives some facts.

Suggestions: juicing; drink with gin; make gin with oranges eat them fresh straight from the trees

This leads to a discussion about gin and how it can be made. With roses, ants and fruit.

Facts: “The orange is the fruit of various citrus species and it primarily refers to Citrus, which is also called sweet orange, to distinguish it from the related Citrus referred to as bitter orange. The sweet orange reproduces asexually; varieties of sweet orange arise through mutations.

Oranges are among the world's most popular fruits. Also called sweet oranges, they belong to a large group of fruits known as citrus fruits. ... Oranges are a healthy source of fiber, vitamin C, thiamine, folate, and antioxidants.”  From Healthline

What Seems To Be Black & White But Is Green? (3.43 mins)

Two Natural Ladies discuss -Coriander! This is a love it or hate it herb and never shall the two agree! It can cause severe reactions from stomach issues to vomiting, as well as emotional issues for those that absolutely despise the taste.

Then there are those people who almost have a love affair with coriander. They can’t get enough of it and when one person in a couple loves it and the other hates it or reacts to it – well things can get ugly J

Pooh Has It Handled & We Are Like A Garden (5mins 40 secs)

Two Natural Ladies start with a chat about singing and walking and dancing and the fact we are not machines! We are different on different days and need different things! We are like a garden.

Vicki tells a joke that makes Jo laugh which leads to a discussion about her parent’s risqué parties and what happened!

This podcast finishes with Jo sharing ‘The Tao of Pooh”: She shares the last page of this lovely book. Pooh is just Pooh and accepts and loves his friends for who they are. Pooh is extremely wise – he just is!

What You Believe, You Achieve. (5mins)

Two Natural Ladies talk about the rats – a torturous story leading to a discussion around Sally Wilson’s statement:

“We’ve all heard the saying: ‘Health is everything.’ I grew up with a wonderful mother who stressed: ‘If you have your health, you can accomplish anything.’ It’s true.”

We get caught up in our:  ‘Shoulds’: “Musts haves”

“The complicating factor here is your mind.” “You do realise that all those ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ we come up with are just beliefs, right? They’re not the truth. Pick one of the beliefs that just popped up for you and take a moment to truly question it. Is it truly, 100% accurate?”

Earth People Fair by Formidable Vegetables. (4mins 06 sec)

“As I get older, some things become clearer

The end of my life is always gettin' nearer

Focusing on the things that bring meaning

Food, community, love and healing”

Two Natural Ladies discuss the words to this song leading to what Charlie (the founder of Formidable Vegetables) is up to.

The issue around immediacy is pondered by Jo and Vicki sparked by Charlie’s email signature saying he will be taking time to consider the email that has been sent to him.

Is Your House Perfect?

Is your house perfect? “Beaming faces, sparkling eyes, pristine decor, and bountiful tables of food are shown on media platforms of every sort. Many of these images stand side by side with corporate logos and retail stores.” Becomingminamilist.com

Very early on Two natural Ladies decided life is for living – spending their time with people. Doing what needs to be done and then getting out and being with their families and friends.

The ridiculousness of the standards we have set ourselves around how our homes ‘should’ look. Jo and Vicki discuss what’s expected when selling our homes.

Unrealistic expectations we create when we – the strategy that the marketing people have some up with and we have got sucked in.

“Excuse the mess” What mess? Jo & Vicki are all about – ‘Better not perfect’

Dolphin Research Institute

Two Natural Ladies have a chat about the amazing work the Dolphin Research Institute does in educating us and informing us. For example -what whales are beaching/stranding themselves? And why? DRI are also raising awareness of their existence and the vital role they play in this research with ocean mammals in particular.

“It's quite frustrating that our team is not called in at the beginning of these (stranding) incidents, as our many decades of experience would help avoid confused messaging!”

Unless you’re a dolphin stay away from them –if they want to come to you they will

Enjoy this little snippet into the world of the sea

Doing a little bit everyday can create something amazing

Two Natural Ladies have a chat about Jo & her son Michael’s book. The first draft is done. Throughout 2020 they worked on this and have written over 200,000 words! It’s now in the editing phase. A healing process.

In taking little steps regularly the book came together. An analogy for anything we want to achieve. Health through diet exercise meditation – just start and do a little bit every day

4 Oceans to the rescue

Jo & Vicki look at what 4 oceans have been up to. In their first 12 months of operations they cleaned up 1 million pounds of rubbish. In the first 3 months of 2021 they did the same. Thanks to all the support they are able to have more ships and staff pulling out more rubbish form the oceans.

And a happy ending for a dolphin, discovered in Bali, trapped in discarded fishing netting.

You will enjoy this little snippet of the difference we are making. 💜

To dance or not to dance

Two Natural Ladies ventured out and supported a local venue and a local music group – The Jackson Combo. A surprise and delight for Vicki who thought she would have to go to seedy bar in the city to see great live music 😂

Friends meeting, drop in and the music filling our souls.

Jo & Vicki finish with rats, bats cats and ants! An abundance of life - not necessarily welcome

Weeds for dinner? (4 mins and 2 seconds)

image.jpeg

Two Natural Ladies have a chat about the garden where we can find a lot of edible weeds – we just have to know what is what!  Is it time to go on an ‘Edible walk’ and find out the food from the poison?

Once again Jo’s grandson is right! Dandelions are edible - in fact they are well loved by many. AND extremely nutritional Oh yes Dandelion tea: Vicki says Yum Jo says Yuk
